Mandatory conformity certificate in Ghent from 01/10/2023
Since 1 October 2023, the city of Ghent requires a conformity certificate for new rentals. What does that mean for landlords?
Every home (main residence only) located in Ghent and its sub-municipalities that is let from 1 October 2023 is required to apply for a conformity certificate when the rental home is more than 30 years old.
A conformity certificate is an official document showing that your rental home or room dwelling meets the statutory standards for safety, health and basic comfort, as laid down in the Flemish Housing Code.
